hydrogen highway

Plasma Arc Technologies has developed a “Hydrogen Highway” strategy, specifically dealing with Hydrogen powered automobiles. The problem of supply and demand of Hydrogen fueling stations for these vehicles is an obstacle that Plasma Arc technology inherently overcomes. Plasma Arc plants produce Hydrogen as a by-product that can supply this burgeoning industry with a system of local fueling stations; thereby creating a practical, renewable and cost-effective infrastructure for the Hydrogen Highway.

“The goal is to eventually establish a network of Hydrogen refueling stations around Florida.”
~ Alan Bedwell Deputy Secretary of Florida Department of Environmental Protection January 22, 2004

Plasma Arc Technologies has revolutionized the Hydrogen supplying market for fuel cell equipped vehicles. This is an area currently being developed nationwide and is on the cutting edge of alternative energy development. De-centralized Plasma Arc plants are both local hazardous waste disposal and renewable fueling station centers. Plasma Arc Technologies will sell the Hydrogen produced by the plants at pumps on-site.

Former Florida Department of Environmental Protection Secretary David B. Struhs stated, “Florida’s investment in new energy technology would reduce our reliance on imported oil and drive pollution-free vehicles from the showroom to our highways, guaranteeing cleaner air for Florida’s communities.” Struhs' statement was given on January 22, 2004 after then-Governor Jeb Bush and the former Secretary test drove a Hydrogen-fueled vehicle developed by Toyota Motor Company.

Several of the world's major automakers plan to commercialize fuel cell vehicles by 2010. In most locations where a Hydrogen distribution infrastructure does not exist, a Plasma Arc plant generating Hydrogen as a by-product is one way to start building a Hydrogen fueling infrastructure.
